Gratitude

According to the dictionary gratitude means the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. To me the most important part of this definition is to be kind. I’ve always told my young students that what you put out there is what you will receive. Your disposition in life is your choice. Angry responses are not received in a positive manner. It instantly puts a person on edge. Think of the last time someone was nice to you or gave you a beautiful letter. Recently a student wrote me a note telling me that I was a great teacher and that she liked being in my class. A feeling of happiness spread through my heart. Every moment of every day is a time to be positive! Spread joy! What you put out there does come back to you!

Every day I am grateful for a wonderful mother who taught me how to be loving and compassionate. For my big family! Two intelligent sons. A job that I love. It feels amazing to make a difference in the life of someone else.

What are you grateful for?
